Clutter

I just took the food downstairs and jeeze am I jealous of their living room. Right now, their living room has a couch, chair, two end tables and small fish tank in it. They have nice wallpaper on the walls, two big pieces of art, a lamp, and that's about it.

Want to know what I have in my living room? Brace yourselves...
Couch, chair, ottoman, TV armoire, computer armoire, book case, giant hutch (for school books) smaller hutch (for kitchen junk), big rug, runner rug, end table and a coffee table. I have a floor lamp, basket of blankets, tote for library books, big piece of art over the TV armoire and a mirror over the book case. I also have two other pieces of art to hang up.

Let me say that my living room is big. In fact, it is so big that if I put the TV on one wall and the couch on the other, I wouldn't be able to see the TV. (Maybe my TV is just too small?) But it is way too small for all of this furniture! And it is tall furniture with a big, antique, overwhelming presence.

Sure, some of this stuff is just temporarily here until we figure out what to do with it, but I hate clutter. HATE it. Maybe the state of my house is responsible for my crappy mood lately?

I find that clutter really affects my mood.

I feel like such a weight is lifted with every 'clear space' I am able to create.

When I am really stressed, often it means that things have been too busy and there is too much stuff around.

So I take time to get rid of it, we are all happier for it :0)

I am the same way. Clutter gives me a headache. The sad thing is... we used to have no clutter. With this move, I just haven't put everything away yet. I really need to get it done before I go crazy, I think!
